A significant piece of India’s intellectual and historical heritage came into focus as a rare book on Gandhian philosophy was announced for auction by Bidsvilla in partnership with Conferro Heritae. The book, titled “Gandhi Ke Paath Par”, holds immense value not only for its content but also for its association with prominent figures from India’s freedom movement.

According to NDTV, the book includes a handwritten note by J.B. Kripalani, a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi and a key figure in India’s independence struggle. Published in 1948, the work reflects Gandhian ideals and principles aimed at shaping a better society.

The auction, estimated between ₹5–7 lakh, was expected to attract significant attention from collectors, historians, and investors, with projections suggesting it could fetch even higher bids.

This sale was part of a larger vintage publications auction that included rare newspapers, magazines, and historical prints from the early 20th century. These items document important global and national events, making them valuable both as collectibles and as historical records.

The initiative also formed part of a broader series of auctions, including movie memorabilia and fine art sales, reflecting the growing demand for cultural and heritage assets in India and internationally.

This auction underscores the increasing recognition of rare books and historical documents as not just cultural treasures but also valuable investment assets in the global collectibles market.
